Escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, put work behind you and relax in our peaceful country retreat of 23 hectares of natural bushland and enjoy the ever changing views from the Booie Range. Our two retreats are the modern version of the iconic Australian 'tin sheds' that we see everywhere in the country, galvanised iron sheeting set in natural bushland. Our retreats are insulated, air conditioned and have that added attraction of a wood fuelled fire. Much more than 'just a bed' we offer the total old fashioned country style hospitality and a change of pace in this busy modern world.
There is no mobile phone coverage, however you are welcome to come up to our home to use our land line or drive up the hill to be within network range. The TV coverage is also not adequate, set top boxes are no help and we are fighting a losing battle with the wildlife chewing through the cables so we have DVD's in each retreat or bring your favourite movies to watch. Also loads of books available from the office and a selection in each retreat. A chance to catch up on your choice of enterainment.
deshons RETREAT is located beside Crane Wines, close to the Bell Tower Restaurant and Captains Paddock Vineyard. We are also an ideal place to stay if travelling from the Fraser Coast or the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane on the inland route, a perfect contrast to the coast.
Come and experience our 'tin huts' first hand! There are two retreats, both open plan, 10m X 5m, no separate bedroom.
deshons RETREAT is a perfect start to experience the emerging South Burnett Food and Wine Trail, stay and enjoy our gourmet breakfast basket loaded with all local or home made products. The basket is included in your tariff.
We also supply a cheese platter with award winning Kingaroy Cheese (www.kingaroycheese.com.au ) or a BBQ pack with local Barkers Creek Pork or beef. Request these options at time of booking.
